Welcome to the SMART Driving Club

The SMART Driving Club has been created to give you a head start on your driving lessons. Taking our short course will introduce you to driving, your Theory Test and the Highway Code. It is aimed at 15 and 16 year old's.

At SMART we have a passion for driving - we enjoy it, we have nice cars and we are very good at it! We want you to SHARE OUR PASSION for driving. So, we are keeping our costs down - it's not about the money - it's about YOU having access to TOP QUALITY training so you are ready to learn in as few higher cost driving lessons as possible . Our short course consists of 4 x 2 hours classes, normally at the weekend. It is £20 per class, so the whole course is £80. There are 9 spaces on each course. All activities are fully insured and use cars fitted with dual controls.

We have developed the 4 week course from our knowledge as Driving Instructors and Driving Examiners so that you can expect:

In the class

• Theory Test training - with a little homework!! (Sorry)
• Introduction to Hazard Perception and practice
• Highway Code sessions

In the car

• A short demonstration drive at test standard, including a reverse exercise - so you know what you are aiming for!!
• You will be able to answer ALL the safety questions you may be asked on your driving test
• You will learn about the car controls, setting and using your mirrors and checking blind spots
• You will learn to move off and stop
• Learning the reverse exercises to test standard - the parallel park, reverse park into a bay, forward park into a bay and right side of the road reverse
• Learn how to change a tyre and other basic jobs around the car

It is becoming increasingly popular for parents to teach their kids to drive. Sometimes, and through no fault of their own, there are gaps in teaching the basics that can lead to bigger problems at test time - for example the correct use of the MSMPSL procedure. Taking this course will equip you with those basic building blocks so that Mum, Dad or whoever could be teaching you has got a solid foundation to build your training on and ensure that you go on to become a confident learner and driver.

You will be given a Record of Training so that your new Driving Instructor (or PDI) can see what you have learned with us.
